Commercial Handyman and General Contractor FAQ: Costs, Response Times, Insurance and Permits

Repairs and upkeep for retail stores, offices, restaurants, medical offices and property portfolios: door closers and hardware, restroom partitions and fixtures, drywall and paint, ceiling tiles, signage and fixtures, tenant turnovers, punch lists and recurring walkthroughs. As a licensed general contractor, we also take on tenant improvements, remodels and renovations, ADA and code upgrades, and storefront and exterior projects.
Our published commercial rate in Los Angeles is $105 to $195 an hour. The minimum service charge is $110 to $210, trip charges run $20 to $95, and you get a written price before any work starts.
Account clients get a scheduling confirmation on urgent calls within 2 to 4 hours. Recurring clients get priority when several urgent calls come in at once. Routine work is booked around your operating hours.
Yes. We work before opening, after close and on weekends so your location stays open. Evening and weekend work is billed at 1.25x to 1.6x the standard rate, and emergency calls at 1.4x to 1.75x. Our dispatch and office hours are Monday to Sunday, 8 AM to 6 PM.
Yes. We carry $2M in general liability coverage and can name your company, landlord or management company as additional insured, usually the same day. We send a W-9 during onboarding.
Every job gets a written scope before we start, timestamped photos during and after, and an itemized invoice you can match to your PO. Approved commercial accounts can be invoiced Net-30.
It depends on the city and the work. Like-for-like swaps such as door hardware, faucet cartridges and ceiling tiles usually need no permit; new circuits, new plumbing lines and structural work do. We check before we quote, and since we're now a licensed general contractor, we can handle permitted work ourselves.
